To help realise a net-zero future, we are introducing innovative solutions in different asset classes across our footprint. Here are some highlights of recent work, tackling different types of carbon emissions in our developments.
Our journey to net-zero carbon encompasses scopes 1, 2 and 3 emissions, and to meet our goal, all our businesses will need to develop net-zero carbon roadmaps and carbon reduction targets.

Burwood Brickworks Shopping Centre by Frasers Property Australia is recognised as the world’s most sustainable shopping centre. It is the first retail centre to attempt and achieve the Living Building Challenge® Petal Certification, the world’s most rigorous measure of the built environment administered by the International Living Future Institute. To reduce direct emissions, the team focused on reducing 99% of construction waste that would have gone to landfill and only used carefully sourced building materials without the use of toxic materials.

Sustainability, wellness and smart principles are built into this modernist office development at Whitechapel, London. The Rowe is targeting the prestigious BREEAM ‘Excellent’ New Construction certification, which recognises high-performing, sustainable building design. Financed by the group’s first green development loan in the UK, the building is also pursuing WELL Gold and will be supplied fully by renewable energy. As a further benefit to tenants and occupiers, The Rowe is situated in the highest Public Transport Accessibility Level (PTAL) location in London.

One of Thailand’s most sustainable buildings, The PARQ is the first mixed-use development in the country to receive the LEED Core and Shell Gold Version 4 Certification, the next-generation standard for sustainable green building design and construction. It has dedicated sustainable waste management facilities including an onsite composter to process food waste generated from tenants and customers. A focus on public education is also a priority where occupiers are encouraged to reduce their own waste production and sort recyclables.

Frasers Tower is a premium Grade-A office building at Singapore’s core Central Business District. The Building and Construction Authority of Singapore Green Mark Platinum building was designed to create a future-ready, connected and sustainable workplace. The award-winning development boasts a wide array of best-in-class sustainable features to boost energy and water efficiency. From the outset, the embodied carbon of the development was also kept to a minimum with the incorporation of sustainable and recycled materials during the construction process.

Rated a 5-Star Green Star Communities residential project by the Green Building Council of Australia, the terrace home precinct at Minnippi Quarter in Queensland is one of the country’s most sustainable communities. In what is believed to be a world’s first for a major developer, environmentally conscious homebuyers were offered the opportunity to offset the emissions associated with the construction of their home by opting-in through the Build Neutral pilot initiative. This initiative uses as many responsibly sourced materials as possible for the construction, and all homes are powered by carbon neutral provider Real Utilities.

Williams-Sonoma’s warehouse at the Horsley Park Estate is the first in Australia to implement a net-zero carbon solution through a combination of solar power, battery storage and biodiesel back-up generation. Financed by the Australia government’s Clean Energy Finance Corporation investment as part of Frasers Property Australia’s A$300million sustainability-linked loan, it is one of two facilities under a pilot program by Frasers Property Industrial and Real Utilities targeting a transition to 100% renewable electricity from 2023 allowing tenants to enjoy green power for the cost of brown.
