For Earth Day that falls on 22 April annually, Frasers Property reaffirms our commitment to our environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals and towards supporting broader efforts in mitigating climate change risks. According to The World Green Building Council, the building and construction sector accounts for up to 40% of global carbon emissions. There are thus many opportunities across the real estate sector to further reduce our carbon footprint.
Frasers Property aims to become a net-zero carbon organisation by 2050. The journey involves embedding sustainable practices across our international multinational footprint such as implementing energy-efficient building designs, increasing our reliance on renewable energy sources, driving measures to innovatively and more effectively manage water, and waste, and more.
The Group appointed Paolo Bevilacqua as Group Head of Sustainability effective December 2022. With over two decades of experience in the real estate and sustainability sectors, Paolo brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the field. His responsibilities include overseeing our sustainability initiatives, engaging stakeholders and driving collaboration with the leadership team and business units to collectively achieve our ESG goals.
