SINGAPORE, 22 OCTOBER 2026

Frasers Centrepoint Trust (FCT) and the National Library & Archives Board (NLB) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop The HomePage @ Causeway Point, Singapore’s first-of-its-kind social and reading destination. Located at FCT’s flagship mall in northern Singapore, the initiative will bring together reading, community and social experiences in an engaging space for visitors of all ages.

Under the MOU, FCT and NLB will collaborate on the planning, design and implementation of the public space, including its literary collections, community programmes and visitor experiences. This public-private partnership aligns with Frasers Property’s social value strategy of enabling opportunity and building inclusive communities, by activating shared spaces and making books more accessible to all.

Expected to open in 2028, The HomePage @ Causeway Point will span over 32,000 square feet1 across a striking triple-volume space on parts of the mall's sixth and seventh floors. Inspired by the idea of home, it will offer a welcoming and accessible space where visitors can connect, recharge and discover new experiences. It also serves as a starting point for more people to discover books and the joy of reading, and build a lifelong reading habit, in line with NLB’s ReadSG initiative.

The HomePage @ Causeway Point will house one of Singapore’s largest publicly accessible collections of pre-loved books from NLB’s libraries in English and Mother Tongue languages, as well as one of the country’s most extensive showcases of Sing Lit and local authors. The use of pre-loved books will promote sustainability, encourage reading and strengthen the community’s social and cultural fabric. Visitors can browse and take home the pre-loved books without borrowing them, allowing them to explore titles at their own pace. To ensure more members of the community can benefit from the collection, patrons are encouraged to share books they have enjoyed with others.

The dedicated Sing Lit showcase gives prominence to Singapore stories and will feature a diverse selection of Sing Lit titles, alongside thematic exhibitions and programmes. NLB will also collaborate with the National Arts Council to curate the Sing Lit space, showcasing literary works and fostering greater appreciation of Singapore’s literary heritage.

Designed as a terraced public living room, The Social Steps provide a welcoming setting for programmes, community activities and everyday interactions. The space invites visitors to pause, reflect and connect.

Designed as a social hub, it brings together reading, dining and social experiences in a welcoming space for all Singaporeans, visitors and tourists. Visitors can enjoy food and beverages within the community reading space, alongside interactive experiences and family-friendly amenities such as children’s play zones. It will also house a purpose-built indoor theatre and screening space, creating a cinematic sanctuary for films, author talks, storytelling sessions and cultural programmes.

Paying homage to Singapore’s heritage, The HomePage @ Causeway Point draws inspiration from architectural and cultural touchpoints that have shaped generations of Singaporeans. Its design elements will reference the iconic Teck Whye HDB blocks, the former National Library building at Stamford Road and the bold geometric forms of Singapore’s 1970s Brutalist architecture. Reimagined through a contemporary lens, these influences come together to create a distinctly Singaporean environment where stories of home, community and identity converge. Through its blend of literary experiences, social spaces and locally inspired design, The HomePage @ Causeway Point aims to evoke nostalgia while fostering connections across generations.

Mr Richard Ng, Chief Executive Officer of the Manager of FCT, said, “We are delighted to partner NLB to bring Singapore’s first-of-its-kind social and reading destination to Causeway Point. The HomePage @ Causeway Point reflects our commitment to reimagining our malls as places where learning, culture and community come together. Whether visitors are reading, enjoying a meal, attending a film screening or spending time with family and friends, we want this to be a place where people feel welcome to stay, connect and return to. As part of Causeway Point’s upcoming AEI, this destination will elevate the overall mall experience, positioning it to be a leading regional mall in Singapore’s Northern Gateway.”

Ms Melissa Tam, Chief Executive Officer, NLB, said, "The HomePage @ Causeway Point marks an exciting milestone in our efforts to grow a stronger reading culture in Singapore. Through ReadSG and our partnership with FCT, we are bringing books, reading and Singapore stories into a vibrant community space that is already part of people's everyday lives. By making reading more accessible and creating new opportunities for readers to discover Sing Lit and local authors, we hope to encourage more Singaporeans to embrace reading as a lifelong habit and connect more deeply with our shared heritage and identity."

The HomePage @ Causeway Point is part of the mall’s broader transformation with its upcoming AEI, scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2027 and complete by the end of 2029. The AEI will reposition Causeway Point as a regional destination offering a wider spectrum of retail, dining, lifestyle and community experiences. Spanning over 425,000 square feet, the enhanced mall will feature close to 250 stores, ranging from everyday essentials to unique fashion, beauty and experiential dining concepts. New community spaces, family-friendly amenities and upgraded facilities will further enrich the visitor experience. Complementing these enhancements, each level will be thoughtfully curated into a distinct lifestyle zone.

The transformation comes as northern Singapore continues to grow as a major residential and commercial hub, supported by sustained population growth and the planned addition of more than 50,000 new homes. Complementing this growth, Woodlands Regional Centre is expected to support over 100,000 jobs, reinforcing its position as a key employment hub and economic centre for the region2.

Located in the heart of the Woodlands Regional Centre, Causeway Point is amongst the top 10 largest suburban malls in Singapore and the largest mall in Woodlands. The mall is seamlessly connected to Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange and Woodlands MRT station, which serves as a major regional transportation hub and interchange for the North-South and Thomson-East Coast lines.
