SYDNEY, 23 NOVEMBER 2020
More than 200 new Ed.Square residents were out on their balconies on Saturday to play balcony bingo with their neighbours in the first community event at Frasers Property Australia’s new masterplanned community in Edmondson Park.
“Typically, in Frasers Property’s communities, we host a welcome BBQ to celebrate new residents moving in. But due to COVID-19 we’ve had to come up with creative ways to bring residents together while maintaining social distancing,” says Claire Palmer, Community Development Manager, Frasers Property Australia.
“Our Sunset Balcony Party was a great alternative to welcome our newest residents in the first four completed apartment buildings at Ed.Square, and connect residents online.”
The balcony party and bingo was livestreamed on the newly created Ed.Square Residents Facebook page from 4pm to 7pm on Saturday 7 November 2020. It was accompanied by live entertainment by the Hot Potato roaming Band and DJ Brett Martin, who provided roaming performances between the balcony bingo games on the podium level and outside the apartment buildings.
“It was a fantastic Covid safe community event and great to see our new Ed.Square residents coming out on their balconies and meeting their new neighbours. Getting to know your neighbours and building a sense of connection are important to building happy, healthy and enjoyable communities,” Ms Palmer says.
“Those welcoming smiles and greetings in the communal areas make a huge difference.
“Home designs, community amenities and neighbourhood planning are important parts of community building, but there’s more to it. Transforming the neighbourhood into an inviting network of places where people feel connected and engaged is just as important for the long-term health and sustainability of a community.
“Especially now, in times like these, our priority is the wellness of our residents. We all need a strong bond and community spirit now more than ever,” she says.
Set amongst more than six hectares of open space, on completion Ed.Square will be one of Sydney’s most walkable communities. Ed.Square Town Centre is within 400 metres of all homes at Ed,Square, with parks and bushland dotted through and around the community to encourage walking and community connections.
Ed.Square will be serviced by convenient bus and train links to Parramatta and Sydney CBD, with easy access to Sydney’s main roads and the future Western Sydney Airport. It is a 45-minute train journey from Edmondson Park railway station to Central Station.
The Ed.Square Sales Centre and Display Village is open daily from 11am to 4pm. For further information or to register your interest in Ed.Square, phone Frasers Property on 13 38 38 or visit www.EdSquare.com.au.
