PERTH, 8 APRIL 2020
Frasers Property Australia is excited to announce the commencement of civil works signalling the first phase of construction on the East Green housing development in Greenwood.
As announced by the Western Australian Minister for Housing Peter Tinley, Frasers Property and the Department of Communities will jointly deliver an inclusive community that aims to generate social and community benefits through the provision of quality homes in safe, inclusive neighbourhoods.
The new masterplan for the 3.86-hectare site allows flexibility in land and building options and ensures greater choice for those looking to call East Green home. This includes house and land packages and land-only sales in a wider range of lot sizes. When complete, it will accommodate between 80 and 100 new homes, all within a naturally picturesque location just 17km from Perth’s CBD.
Paying homage to the former East Greenwood Primary School on which the development is situated, the new masterplan ensures the development preserves Greenwood’s history and natural amenity by dedicating more than 25% of land to parkland and open space, which residents will be able to enjoy.
Tod O’Dwyer, General Manager Residential WA, Frasers Property Australia says the developer is eager to get construction underway and bring the new masterplan to life.
“The beginning of civil works at East Green is an important milestone for the community and it’s just the start of what’s to come and what the community can look forward to,” Mr O’Dwyer said.
“Living at East Green is all about connection and enjoying the open spaces that surround the residential neighbourhood.”
Designed with positive health and wellbeing in mind, the East Green development will have a green focus, with over 50% of its housing overlooking an expansive parkland. Existing native and grass trees will be retained where possible and complemented by extensive new native plantings and landscaping. Walkways through the community provide outdoor recreational spaces as well as creating connections with the broader community. The project has been awarded a 5 Star Green Star Communities rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.
The heart of East Green will be its central park – including a barbecue station, picnic facilities, a children’s playground and historic markers – which will offer easy accessibility for all and will be one of the first assets delivered to the community.
“We are working hard towards opening up that space for the community as soon as possible while we continue with the residential development.
“It’s going to be a fantastic, vibrant meeting place for residents and the wider Greenwood community where they can meet, relax and enjoy the facilities,” says Mr O’Dwyer.
When complete, East Green residents will enjoy the convenience of an established suburb surrounded by amenity, health support services, schools and sports facilities, with bus stops, train stations and key arterial roads all nearby.
The project will be delivered in four stages. Sales for the first stage are anticipated to launch in the second half of this year.
