Frasers Property UK (FPUK) is a Business Unit within Frasers Property Limited, a Singapore-based multi-national Group that owns, develops, and manages a diverse and integrated property portfolio. FPUK has a focus on the development of residential and commercial properties and owns and manages commercial and residential assets across the United Kingdom.
We recognise that effective management of health and safety must have an equal priority to every other business imperative. We also recognise that to be effective, our management of health and safety needs to be led from the top. The ultimate responsibility for health and safety management and health and safety performance within FPUK therefore rests with our Chief Executive Officer and the management team that determines and enacts our business strategy.
The customers that purchase or occupy the properties that we develop and manage are the ultimate stakeholders in the effectiveness of our health and safety approach. Critical too are our employees and the contractors, consultants and suppliers that support us.
Within that context, and in compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and other requirements, it is our policy to provide, across all the properties and activities we control, safe and healthy work environments and work tasks designed and managed to prevent work-related injury and ill health.
To support the achievement of our policy, FPUK will:
• operate a health and safety management system in line with the principles set out in relevant national and international standards, which both identifies the hierarchy of responsibility for health and safety within FPUK, and facilitates the routine identification, assessment and elimination or control of the full range of health and safety risks arising from our activities
• through the operation of a cross-functional Health and Safety Committee, set an annual health and safety agenda and supporting objectives in health and safety, towards achieving ongoing improvement in the effectiveness of our health and safety management system
• monitor, measure and report on our health and safety performance
• organise access to, or appoint, a source of competent advice and support in health and safety
We expect the achievement of our health and safety policy to be an objective that everyone working within FPUK activities shares. We must all take reasonable care for our own health and safety and make sure that our tasks do not pose risks to the safety of others.
As Chief Executive Officer, I am proud to be responsible for the development, maintenance and ongoing improvement of our health and safety culture, and our health and safety performance. Regular review at our Health and Safety Committee will enable me to ensure that our health and safety policy, and its supporting health and safety management system, remains appropriate for our business and the activities we complete.
