Frasers Property Singapore was recognised with the SGBC-BCA Leadership in Sustainability Award in the Impact sub-category at the SGBC Gala Awards Dinner, held at The Ritz Carlton, Millenia Singapore on 30 July 2026. The event was graced by Guest-of-Honour Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment.
The biennial award celebrates organisations that demonstrate leadership in sustainability and contribute to advancing Singapore's built environment. The Impact sub-category recognises organisations that have demonstrated substantial, measurable improvements in areas such as carbon reduction, resource management and overall sustainability performance across their operations.
“We are honoured to be recognised by SGBC-BCA with the Business Leadership in Sustainability Award (Impact category). By embedding ESG across the lifecycle of our assets, our malls, workplaces and residential projects, we are advancing our decarbonisation journey — delivering meaningful environmental outcomes, strengthening asset resilience and creating inclusive spaces for our communities. This accolade reflects the power of partnerships and innovation in driving positive impact and encourages us to continue raising the bar for a more sustainable built environment,” said Ms Soon Su Lin, Chief Executive Officer, Frasers Property Singapore.
Embedding sustainability across our portfolio
This recognition reflects the work we have built up over the years to integrate sustainability into how we invest, develop, operate and manage our properties.
Across our business, we have taken steps to reduce carbon emissions, optimise the environmental performance of our buildings, advance the circular economy, design more sustainable spaces, and encourage greener practices among our tenants, shoppers and communities. These efforts have contributed to Frasers Property Singapore achieving 100% green certification across owned and managed assets in FY25.
For our new developments, we target at least a Green Mark GoldPLUS certification, with sustainability considerations incorporated across areas such as operational efficiency, construction-stage carbon emissions, and nature-affirming design. Landscaping, for example, is designed to contribute to biodiversity and the wider environmental performance of our developments.
Beyond new developments, we also explore how existing spaces can be renewed sustainably. At Jiak Kim Street, Frasers Property Singapore restored and repurposed three century-old warehouses, preserving their historic character while giving the buildings a new lease of life. Through adaptive reuse, the project reduced the need for demolition and new construction materials, helping to lower embodied carbon while demonstrating how sustainability and heritage conservation can come together in the rejuvenation of existing spaces.
Sky Eden@Bedok (Left) and the century old Jiak Kim Street warehouses (Right) demonstrate how Frasers Property Singapore integrates sustainability into both new developments and urban renewal, balancing environmental performance with heritage conservation.
We also continue to explore how technology and innovation can improve the performance of our properties. Together, these efforts help us manage the environmental impact of our assets while strengthening their long-term resilience and efficiency.
Driving impact through collaboration
Creating meaningful impact requires collaboration across the wider ecosystem. We work with partners, tenants and stakeholders to bring new solutions into our properties and scale their impact across our portfolio.
Our collaboration with SP Group, for example, supported the installation of close to 4,500 sqm of solar panels across seven of our retail and commercial properties in Singapore, in what was Singapore’s largest single solarisation rollout for retail malls.
Frasers Property Singapore and SP Group collaborate to advance the adoption of solar energy across its retail and commercial properties.
We are also part of Singapore’s first brownfield distributed district cooling network, with Century Square and Tampines 1 serving as key injection nodes. This initiative is expected to cut the town centre’s carbon emissions by approximately 1,000 tonnes annually, in line with the Singapore Green Plan 2030.
Beyond decarbonisation, we are also advancing the circular economy and reducing waste. Following a successful pilot at Causeway Point, we collaborated with Life Lab Resources and Green Eco Technologies to implement WasteMaster food waste valorisation systems in five of our malls. Notably, our recycled food waste increased by 24.2% from 207 tonnes in FY24 to 258 tonnes in FY25.
Extending our impact through our spaces
Our role in sustainability also extends beyond the environmental performance of our properties. As places that people visit and use regularly, our malls provide platforms to engage tenants, shoppers and communities and encourage more sustainable practices.
Our Green-Coded campaign, which was recognised as Runner-Up for Green initiative of the year at the Singapore Retailers Association (SRA) Awards 2026, demonstrates this approach. Through interactive activations with partners such as Tesla, Mandai X and Singapore Fashion Council, alongside tenant-led initiatives, the campaign brought sustainability to life for shoppers and families across our malls, encouraging greater awareness and participation in more sustainable choices.
Last year, a plastic bottle recycling drive across our malls saw Hougang Mall collect more than 10,000 bottles, demonstrating how our spaces can encourage active participation in sustainability efforts.
We also engage our tenants, shoppers and communities through global sustainability initiatives such as World Water Day and Earth Hour, using our retail and commercial spaces as platforms to encourage more sustainable practices.
Continuing to create places for good
We will continue to take a science-based, data-driven approach to decarbonisation, using emissions data to identify opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint and improve the environmental performance of our properties over time.
We will also continue working with our partners, tenants and communities to build on the progress we have made and find practical ways to strengthen the resilience and performance of our properties.
Guided by our Purpose of Inspiring experiences, creating places for good, we will continue to play our part in shaping a more sustainable built environment and creating spaces that serve our communities well.
