When COVID-19 hit our shores, lives were disrupted in ways beyond our imagination. As we continue our fight against the virus, stories of individuals and communities banding together and standing in solidarity have emerged, and they serve as a reminder for us to lift each other up in tough times.
From simple words of encouragement to sending gifts from afar, here are some stories of acts of kindness compiled from the Frasers family.
Going the extra mile

Aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19, the “circuit breaker” started on April 7, and non-essential businesses had to be closed. During this period, the malls of Frasers Property Retail remain open for retailers in essential services to continue trading, and for shoppers to go about their essentials activities. Our frontline staff across 14 malls continue to interact and serve shoppers on a daily basis. With a greater need to ensure the health and safety of our customers, and with mandatory safety management measures to enforce, these frontline staff have had to step up in addition to their usual roles. Through it all, their resilience and commitment to service excellence did not go unnoticed.
Ms Carol, a shopper, sends her compliments to the cleaners and management team of White Sands.
Mr Adrian Lee, a visitor at Causeway Point, sends his regards to security staff at the mall.
Ms Eileen Goh, a shopper at White Sands compliments the entrance staff for their service excellence.
Frasers Property Retail works closely with our tenants to ensure smooth re-opening of the malls.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our shoppers and tenants for their patience and understanding in working alongside us to make the malls a safe community space for all. Your kind words and gestures are much appreciated during this trying period. Thank you to our staff as well for their resilience and hard work throughout the pandemic.
Care kits for frontline staff
Face shields provide both staff and tenants an added layer of protection on top of face masks.
We have also committed US$50,000 to purchase our first batch of made-in-Singapore masks from Razer’s mask manufacturing line. The masks will be distributed to tenants across 14 malls and all the mall’s frontline staff. In addition, face shields have been distributed to tenants, frontline staff and vendors as an added layer of protection to keep them safe.
Virtual check ins

When Singapore went into its circuit breaker, most people found themselves having to work from home. People were encouraged to only leave the house for essential activities and may found themselves feeling isolated. Nonetheless, many of our staff checked in with each other through virtual means. Whether it is through simple texts or zoom calls, staff stayed connected to each other and uplifted one another through the use of technology.
Clockwise from left: Staff share photos of their lunch, work from home set up and activities they did during their spare time.
They also shared a snippet of their lives on Workplace by Facebook, an enterprise connectivity platform, through photos taken while working from home. This fosters the spirit of being together even while working apart.
Each kind gesture, no matter how small, can make a difference in someone’s day. Let us stay strong and get through this crisis together!
