This October, shoppers can look forward to reinvigorating their minds, bodies, and souls with a myriad of activities suited to improving their overall wellbeing. Changi City Point, Anchorpoint and Causeway Point are bringing a little something for the beer lovers, clean eating advocates and Pokémon fans. Activities include Beer Yoga, an Honest-to-Goodness Farmers’ Market, and an exclusive meet and greet session with the face of the popular Pokémon animated series, Pikachu.
Have a frothy good time
Beer aficionados are rejoicing this month for Oktoberfest, the world’s largest festival celebration of their favourite refreshment! Changi City Point is celebrating with shoppers with several activities planned for a whole month involving the staple alcoholic beverage. From 20 September to 20 October, shoppers can participate in several activities that best complement an ice-cold glass of beer.
Shoppers who may find themselves a little sore from the week’s work exertions, can get ready to feel reenergised and sprightly once again with a Beer Yoga session. The trend, which has been making waves in Europe since 2014, has caught on here recently. On 5 October, shoppers must hold their beers steadily without spilling a drop, all while distorting their bodies in complex Yoga positions. They can then reward themselves with a sip of beer at special intervals, which is said to help with feeling more alert during the exercise. The first 50 shoppers who spend a minimum $80 get to register a Beer Yoga slot.
Glamourous camping or the more commonly used portmanteau, glamping, perfectly combines ready-made smoky, savoury, grilled meats with beer, all relished in the comfort of an indoor environment. From 11 to 20 October, Changi City Point is bringing Beer Glamping to shoppers, where they can savour the best BBQ pairing of grilled foods and alcohol from event booths. The Open Plaza on level one will be transformed into a camping fiesta with live music filling the air. Adding to the style element of a camping experience, Changi City Point is introducing a 360° beer counter, popular bar games. The first 50 shoppers per day who spend a minimum of $50 at the mall can score themselves a food coupon as well as a chance at one of the games.
Those looking for a more intimate and comfortable evening can look forward to the screening of “How to Train Your Dragon – The Hidden World.” For one night only on 28 September, Changi City Point is offering a free flow supply of popcorn, as families and friends catch the popular animated hit in the company of each other, as well as their favourite ales and lagers.
Wellness activities to refresh and rejuvenate
As people are looking towards making more holistic food choices and recognising their impact on the environment as well as their overall health, more are choosing alternative organic ingredients and preparing healthier foods. Anchorpoint is introducing new activities this October to encourage these wholesome lifestyles. With the Honest-to-Goodness Farmers’ Market and the Look & Cook Demonstrations, shoppers will have more nourishing options not only to prepare for their daily consumption, but also use for their day to day personal care. Shoppers will be able to choose from a number of reputable organic brands such as Dukkah King, Herbal Sense, and Blyss Tea. The Market will run from 30 September all the way to 6 October at the basement one atrium and the level one main entrance.
Shoppers are in for a healthy treat as they learn brand-new recipes to introduce on the dinner table from Chef Tales, a popular culinary class in Singapore. These quick-and-easy meals will not only satisfy one’s belly but also benefit one’s health. Shoppers can finally kickstart their new cooking adventures with these demonstrations. The cooking demonstrations by Chef Tales will be conducted on the weekend of 5 and 6 October. This is a cooking journey not to be missed!
Exercise also plays an important role in a person’s overall wellbeing, and shoppers can get their body moving at Anchorpoint with its Wonderful Weekday Workouts held every day from 30 September to 4 October. Popular fitness enthusiast Jia En (@iamjiaen) will be opening and closing the week of exercises with a Core High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on 30 September and 4 October. In between, shoppers can spice up their training regimes with alternative full-body workouts such as PoundFit, Zumba, and BodyART to energise their work week.
Pokémon come to Causeway Point
Since bursting onto the scene more than 20 years ago to become the face of the most iconic animated series in the world, Pikachu will be making a special appearance at Causeway Point in the coming month! This is a chance for the true-hearted fans who have supported the lovable Pokémon all the way, to meet the most recognisable hero of the megahit franchise. The adorable, yellow electricity-charged Pokémon and Eevee, will be taking turns to meet with fans on three consecutive weekends from 28 September to 13 October.
