Freshly baked buns will tingle your nose as Austria’s leading bakery Guschlbauer opens its first Southeast Asian store in Singapore. Guschlbauer will open its doors at Waterway Point in Punggol on 9 March. It is also the first Austrian bakery in Singapore with a storefront.

Guschlbauer has nearly 100 years of experience as a bakery products manufacturer. The name Guschlbauer stands for quality and reliability and only premium Austrian ingredients are used to produce baked goods. The Austrian bakery currently has three other franchises in Toronto, Seoul, and Hong Kong. The Hong Kong outlet has the highest sales turnover for bakery chains. 

The bakery carries a niche product offering, with its signature product, the Quarter Cheese Bun, making its debut here. Singaporeans have been known to travel to Hong Kong just to savour Guschlbauer’s signature Devil Cheese Buns. 

Another fresh opening at Waterway Point is Nam Kee Pau. It specialises in traditional in-house handmade pau from the authentic traditional recipe of the famous Nam Kee Pau in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The store also offers hearty servings of Mee Hoon Kuay or Ke Kou Mian as well as glutinous rice chicken and Siew Mai. 

Famous for its Hokkaido Cheese Toast in Thailand, SayChiizu has opened its next outlet at Waterway Point. With its endearing packaging and stretchable cheese, SayChiizu appeals to all ages – particularly children and teenagers. The cheese is made from special recipes by its own farm in Thailand. 

BEDOK POINT
At Bedok Point, Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh has just opened. Established in one of the first HDB estates in Singapore at Outram Park Estate, Founder Madam Gwee Peck Hua has brought meticulous dedication to detail of taste, which comes through in every bowl of Bak Kut Teh her stores serve. Madam Gwee Peck Hua and her sister Madam Gwee Guek Hwa worked tirelessly to perfect the recipe for the finest bowl of Teochew-style Bak Kut Teh. The brand is also the proud winner of the Singapore Hawker Masters Award in 2012 and 2013.  

Hoshino Coffee is another new opening at Bedok Point. Originally from Japan, this Japanese-Western fusion style of café-restaurant specialises in hand-dripped coffee with premium Arabica roasted coffee beans, selected by their own coffee blend specialist. 

Introducing a new menu exclusive to Bedok Point, diners can look forward to two new Hoshino coffee blends and an extensive selection of specially curated dishes for the local taste bud. 

Hoshino Coffee will open on 10 March 2018 at Bedok Point.  

CAUSEWAY POINT

Over at Causeway Point, The Green Party (TGP) will open in end April. It advocates green natural life, mainly selling quality houseware, fun kitchen supplies, balcony garden accessories, bathroom aromatherapy supplies, fun office stationery, jewellery, hair ornaments and other wear products. All TGP’s products are natural, healthy, and are environmentally-friendly, combining green health and fashion innovations to redefine a new attitude towards home life. TGP will also open another outlet at Northpoint City end of March. 

Another new opening to Causeway Point in June 2018 is Siamese Cat, a Thai-style café that promises to bring authentic Thai food to Singapore. Siamese Cat’s menu consists of classic drinks such as Thai milk tea, fresh coconut juice and mango smoothie, and more striking drinks such as the Avocado coco, coco-cooler, matcha coco and others. Must-try items on the menu include the Thai tea shibuya, aloha coconut and mango tango.

THE CENTREPOINT

Wolfgang Violin Studio opens mid-March at The Centrepoint. It offers violin lessons for everyone from age 3 years to adults, and focuses on building technique and musicality. Guided by internationally acclaimed violinist, Min Li, the studio offers a unique pedagogy, to groom students correctly right from the start and making classes fun yet effective.

YEWTEE POINT
KECha, a new concept beverage kiosk from Taiwan, opens at YewTee Point in mid-March. It offers a range of drinks, from fruity teas to milk series, in stunning colours served in beautiful and reusable bottles. Fruity teas such as Roselle Teas keep your livers in check, while the popular My Secret Garden tea, combines three different types of flower, apple juice, soda and alluring rose buds. The Milk Series will also tantalise your taste buds with the first Popcorn-flavoured drink launched in Singapore. The famous New York Cheesecake Milk is a must-have for Cheesecake lovers.
