Waterfront Collection, a joint venture project between Far East Organization and Frasers Centrepoint Limited.
The Waterfront Collection is a joint venture project between Far East Organisation and Frasers Centrepoint Limited, the development went on to compete in the prestigious international real estate competition, FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence 2017.
Located in the eastern part of Singapore at the Bedok Reservoir residential enclave, the Waterfront Collection is a masterplanned community, framing the 88-hectare Bedok Reservoir. Designed to maximise views to the reservoir, the Waterfront Collection comprises over 1,700 residential units in four distinct developments – Waterfront Waves, Waterfront Key, Waterfront Gold and Waterfront Isle.
The Waterfront Collection sits on a former HUDC estate known as Waterfront View which was built in the 1980s. Recognising the potential of the site with its prime water frontage, Far East Organization and Frasers Centrepoint Limited jointly procured the site in an en bloc acquisition. Harnessing the strengths and experiences of the two developers, a masterplan was developed to guide the execution of Waterfront Collection as the 7.5-hectare site was carved into four parcels with each developer leading two developments.
This masterplan approach allows the creation of four distinct developments, each with its unique theme and design concept, yet held together as one holistic community. The masterplanned development was also launched in phases to better meet market needs and demand as well as allow subsequent phases to be developed in tandem with up-to-date and relevant lifestyle trends.
Coinciding with the market’s strong run from 2009 to 2013, this strategy proved successful. Launched one after the other over a span of four years, beginning with Waterfront Waves, followed by Waterfront Key, Waterfront Gold and Waterfront Isle, the value of each development increased successively. Today, all 1,764 units at the Waterfront Collection are fully sold.
Designed by home-grown award-winning architecture firm with an international practice, DP Architects, each of the four developments has a distinct identity and unique proposition visually connected by a spinal ‘green lung’ traversing the entire Waterfront Collection. The continuous landscape of greenery and waterscape, together with large windows and balconies in every apartment, create a modernistic interpretation of waterfront living where residents enjoy ample views of the reservoir, pool or landscape.
Homebuyers enjoy different architectural styles and theme variation in the landscape and facilities. This adds to the architectural vibrancy of the precinct. The Waterfront Collection has successfully transformed the once-quiet Bedok Reservoir, injecting diversity and breathing vibrancy into the suburban precinct.
The Waterfront Collection also marks the maiden partnership between Far East Organization and Frasers Centrepoint Limited. The success of the Waterfront Collection cemented the strong partnership between the two developers, and preceded several developments including 8 Courtyards in Yishun, Seastrand in Pasir Ris and Watertown in Punggol.
FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards is evaluated by an expert panel of professionals, and recognises real estate developments for their excellence in the areas of design, aesthetics, functionality as well as their contribution to the built environment and community.
