The environment in which we spend so much of our time plays a big part in our well-being, productivity and overall experience.
Through its long experience in designing, building, owning and operating some of Singapore’s iconic residential and commercial buildings, Frasers Centrepoint Singapore understands how vital it is to build with sustainable and environmentally-friendly means.
As a global real estate company with a diverse portfolio, it is also well-positioned to make a difference to the sustainability of its developments and consequently, the lives of their occupants.
The aim is to create healthier, greener spaces while collaborating with customers to deliver internationally-recognised standards of environmental design and performance; such as reduced environmental impact, improved indoor air quality and reductions in energy, water and material usage, with every property it builds.
As of today, more than 20 properties in the Frasers Centrepoint Singapore stable have achieved the Green Mark Award from BCA for achieving these international standards.
Going forward, the company is constantly striving to raise the bar and improve efficiencies to meet the stringent requirements of Singapore’s BCA Green Mark Scheme for all its properties.
Nestled in a park of its own
One example is the recently-launched Frasers Tower on Cecil Street – a smart and sustainable office building that uniquely blends workspace and nature. The 663,000 sq ft building comprising 38 storeys of Premium Grade-A office space is right at the gateway to Singapore’s Central Business District.

Awarded the BCA Green Mark Platinum, its environmentally-friendly features include energy-efficient and regenerative high-speed lifts; a high performance double-glazed façade that greatly reduces solar heat gain while providing panoramic views; UV light emitters in all air-handling units help improve air quality; and energy-efficient air-conditioning and intelligent lighting systems complete with motion sensors and photocell sensors that are expected to achieve more than 30 per cent in energy savings.
The lush greenery at its community zones – “The Terrace”, “The Sky”, “The Oasis” and a park of its own called “The Park” – further lowers surface temperature of the building while acting like a green lung. Meanwhile, rainwater is recycled to irrigate the building’s flora and run the water cooling system.
Frasers Tower enjoys a direct link to the Tanjong Pagar MRT, and will also provide secured bicycle lots with end of trip facilities as well as electric vehicle recharging stations.
Making way for more greenery in Nee Soon
Northpoint Shopping Centre won the BCA Green Mark Gold award. Its key features include high efficiency chilled water plant, recycled water for toilet flushing and efficient heating and cooling systems for cleaner and healthier air.

Located in the heart of Yishun, it will be part of Northpoint City’s iconic integrated development, a desirable lifestyle destination in the north that offers seamless connectivity and convenience for Nee Soon’s residents.
Green from within
Awarded Green Mark Office Interior Gold Plus, the Frasers Centrepoint Limited headquarters at Alexandra Point (Levels 15, 16 and 21) uses energy-efficient lighting and air-conditioning systems, water-efficient fittings and recycling facilities along with ‘Energy Star’-labelled office equipment for energy efficiency.
Maintaining a culture of sustainability
Sustainability requires ongoing effort and China Square Central is a case in point. Green Mark Gold re-certified, the development combines an office tower with thriving offices, shops and restaurants in modernised Chinese architecture.
Work is continuously being done to ensure there is always improvements in China Square Central’s green features, including the progressive switch to LED lights and replacement of chillers to enhance efficiency. As well as being a PUB Water Efficient Building, the Office Tower uses water-efficient fittings. There is also collaboration with one of our service vendors on e-waste minimisation efforts, by having an electronic waste collection point.
The quest for better buildings
Another example of Frasers Centrepoint Singapore’s green efforts is commercial property, 55 Market Street. Its Green Mark Gold award recognises the PUB Water Efficient Building’s use of water-efficient taps. Other energy-saving facilities include efficient LED lightings, motion sensors for staircases and recycling facilities.
Frasers Centrepoint Singapore believes that everyone has a part to play in environmental sustainability. With its focus on creating meaningful spaces for communities, it will continue to deliver quality residential, commercial and retail properties that ensure a positive impact not just for occupants, but also the environment.
