We have been ranked by Equileap as one of the top three best-performing listed companies in Singapore for gender equality at work across the Group. We are also in the top 500 among 4,000 publicly listed companies globally – which means that we are ranked amongst the world’s top 12%!
The annual report published by Equileap, a global leading provider of gender equality data and insights, presents a status update on issues ranging from equal pay and female representation to paid parental leave and anti-sexual harassment policies. This honorary recognition by Equileap affirms our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) at the workplace.
“Aligned with Frasers Property’s Purpose – Inspiring experiences, creating places for good – we want each employee to have the best possible experience at work, and DEI forms an integral part of our culture. Creating greater awareness about gender equity helps us champion purposeful diversity and inclusivity at the workplace. This requires us to constantly review existing policies and enhance opportunities for women, which will eventually level the playing field not only for working women, but for everyone,” said Ms Zheng Wanshi, Group Chief Strategy & Planning Officer, Frasers Property Limited.
Purposeful culture, to the power of equity
We are creating, inspiring, and nurturing an inclusive culture that unlocks the power of diverse teams to drive Frasers Property forward. We aim to create a safe place where each individual feels a sense of belonging, is mutually respected, and feels empowered to be authentic at work. This is because we believe that working collaboratively makes us progressively stronger and better as an organisation, which helps our people to thrive each day.
At Frasers Property, our workforce continues to be gender-balanced with a 50:50 ratio, with 42% female representation in senior management levels, up from 38% last year. Within the next couple of years, we will be rolling out initiatives such as a Group-wide learning programme on inclusive leadership and intelligence, as well as unconscious bias at work.
Reinforcing diversity, equity and inclusivity through paid parental leave
In Singapore, beyond employees’ leave entitlement, we will provide an additional three days of paid compassionate leave to affected individuals experiencing a miscarriage at home. For fathers of newborns, we also introduced at least two weeks of paternity leave for all male employees regardless of their nationalities to allow fathers to take time off for their partners and newborn child.
We want to do more to offer greater support to our employees especially during such potentially life-changing experiences. A more systematic review of our employee leave, renumeration and benefits policies is underway taking in a principles-based approach with equity in mind.
Flexible work arrangements in the new normal
The recent global pandemic placed flexible work arrangements, especially remote work, in the spotlight – creating a silver lining for many caregivers aiming to juggle household responsibilities and work duties. Flexible work arrangements have strengthened the resilience of many workplaces during the global pandemic, including Frasers Property, as we believe that flexible work practices help with domestic responsibilities.
Recently, we have introduced a flexible working policy in Singapore that allows employees greater flexibility to work from home post-pandemic, in recognition of the new normal at work. More information can be found here.
We are building and will continue to foster a culture where differences are valued and respected, knowing that such diversity brings us closer to the communities we serve.
