MELBOURNE, 1 MAY 2020
Residents at The Grove can begin counting down to the opening of the Bethany Road Bridge, with construction of the bridge in its final stages.
The much-anticipated bridge is scheduled to open to traffic in May 2020. Wyndham City mayor Josh Gilligan says work to build the new bridge has been a big focal point for the community.
“The Bethany Road Bridge will be an important link across Davis Creek between The Grove community and the other side of Tarneit, providing residents with easy access to all the amenities that the growing suburb has to offer,” Cr Gilligan says.
“The opening of the new road has been highly anticipated by the community and it’s fantastic the wait is almost over.
“We would like to thank The Grove community for their ongoing patience while this important work has been taking place,” says Cr Gilligan.
Construction of the 28 metre-long bridge began in May 2019. The new bridge includes one traffic lane each way with shared paths for pedestrians and bicycles on both sides of the road.
Sarah Bloom, General Manager Residential Victoria, Frasers Property Australia says the bridge opening is an important milestone for The Grove community.
“The new bridge is about connecting our community and providing for the future,” Ms Bloom says.
“It will be a game-changer for the community as it will cut travel time to the future town centre and ease congestion at the busy intersection of Sayers Road and Davis Road.
“We are currently working with Wyndham City Council to ensure the bridge opens as early as possible,” Ms Bloom says.
Well-positioned in Victoria’s booming western growth corridor, The Grove offers residents an abundance of outdoor lifestyle opportunities as well as easy access to a future town centre, community facilities and planned schools all in a picturesque natural setting.
The community is already taking shape with more than 850 land lots sold and new residents settled in. Frasers Property will deliver the balance of the new community, which includes approximately 2,600 residential lots across some 167 hectares.
Future plans at The Grove are expected to include a retail precinct, proposed primary and secondary schools, neighbourhood activity centre, sporting oval, medical and child-care facilities and a series of walking and cycle paths connecting parklands and waterways with the wider neighbourhood. There are currently a range of land lots available for sale at The Grove with prices starting from $295,500.
