Construction set to start on exclusive residents’ club this month
MELBOURNE, 26 JUNE 2020
Frasers Property Australia has appointed Harris HMC to build its exclusive residents’ leisure hub, Club Mambourin, at its new mixed-use community in Melbourne’s expanding west.
Club Mambourin will set a new benchmark in residential amenity for new communities with plans for the exclusive leisure club to include a spa, kids’ pool, 25-metre heated lap pool, multi-use court, fully equipped gymnasium, function room, café and barbecue area.
Frasers Property is also aiming to achieve a 5 Star Green Star rating for the facility, harnessing geothermal technology for heating and cooling in a bid to reduce greenhouse emissions.
Mambourin is a unique $440 million mixed-use community in Melbourne’s expanding west, with all amenities just five minutes from residents’ doors. All residents will enjoy exclusive access to the year-round facilities at Club Mambourin.
The start of construction of Club Mambourin this month marks a significant milestone for the ambitious development.
Sarah Bloom, General Manager Residential Victoria for Frasers Property Australia says the club will take approximately 12 months to complete.
“We are delighted to be working with Harris HMC on this project, they bring the depth of experience required to help us meet our vision for the club,” Ms Bloom says.
“It’s an exciting time for the project team and our new residents, seeing this important part of the Mambourin ‘five-minute’ community become a reality. The club will become a thriving hub and an essential place for residents to connect.
“We hope that residents will regard Club Mambourin as an extension of their own homes and make full use of all the state-of-the-art facilities.”
Ms Bloom says the use of geothermal energy to heat the club’s pool is a Victorian first. Geothermal will also be used to heat and cool the entire facility. Frasers Property is hoping geothermal technology will reduce energy costs and the developer’s carbon footprint.
“Building sustainable communities is something we take very seriously, and Club Mambourin will make use of the most environmentally sensitive energy system currently available,” Ms Bloom says.
“Sustainability is also about building resilient communities into the future and we see Club Mambourin as playing a vital role in this regard for the Mambourin community.”
Appointed builder Harris HMC has experience delivering large-scale residential, commercial, education, health, government and hospitality projects. Geoff Dart, General Manager of Construction at Harris HMC says the company is thrilled to be appointed and eager to get started on construction.
“Club Mambourin will become a centrepiece for this community so it’s exciting to play such an important role in helping shape its future,” Mr Dart says.
“Construction will take approximately 12 months and we are looking forward to working alongside Frasers Property to deliver on the vision.”
Mambourin will offer an unparalleled level of connectivity and amenity, with plans for the new community proposed to include a P-12 school, a new train station, a major town centre, open space, library, kindergarten, a performing arts centre and a commercial business district.
Mambourin is proving popular with all types of buyers including first homebuyers, families, empty-nesters and investors. The community’s first residents are expected to start building their dream homes later this year. Mambourin offers land lots in various sizes to suit buyers of all types with a range of budgets.
