SYDNEY, 11 SEPTEMBER 2019
Four weeks after being released to market, 27 out of 30 new single-storey homes have been sold at Fairwater, in Blacktown.
Frasers Property Australia released 30 single-storey two and three-bedroom homes in August 2019 and a large proportion of the 27 sold have been snapped up by first home buyers.
Dino Carulli, Sales & Marketing Director – Residential NSW, Frasers Property Australia says the popularity of the new single-storey homes demonstrates demand is strong for quality residences at the right price point.
“More than 500 families now call Fairwater home and the variety of quality homes with different configurations ensures there is a home for all lifestyles with access to parkland, shops and walking trails,” Mr Carulli says.
“Clearly, there is a strong market for smaller, more affordable, single-storey homes in established, thriving communities. Buyers have really responded to this latest release.”
Fairwater’s two-bedroom homes were priced from $565,000 to $618,000, while the three-bedroom homes were priced at $660,000 to $715,000. The remaining three homes are all two bedrooms and are priced at $589,000, $611,000, and $618,000 and demand is still strong.
The popular new single-storey Fairwater homes have open-plan living areas with some featuring 2.9-metrehigh ceilings. Buyers can choose from four different colour schemes, and the pet-friendly properties feature low-maintenance rear yards.
Sandra Dayao was one of the first people to sign up for a single-storey home at Fairwater. Ms Dayao purchased a two-bedroom, two-bathroom home for $595,000.
At 63, she’s not your typical first home buyer – but with Fairwater’s new single-storey homes her dream has finally become a reality.
Ms Dayao has been renting in Blacktown for 13 years, close to her work at Cumberland Hospital. For years, she’s been searching for a single-storey home, but they were always “too expensive” and never new builds.
“I am so excited. It’s not too late for me to buy a house. This is my first home and it will be perfect,” she says.
Ms Dayao says the garden space will be a blessing for her two pet red toy poodles.
“I have space, I have an undercover alfresco area, and a running water tank and a shed,” she says. “It’s low maintenance and on my side, there is even a space where I can walk from the front yard to the back.”
The existing community and health facilities were a huge bonus.
“There is a medical centre down there and a fitness centre and a pharmacy really close,” Ms Dayao says.
“Everything is already built and close to the train, to Westpoint shopping centre and to my church as well. I can walk, if I want to walk. Walking is a good exercise.”
Fairwater is a connected community set on a 38-hectare former golf course. It features more than nine hectares of open space and picturesque surrounds, including lakes and ponds, boardwalks, walkways and pramways, a playground and learn-to-ride bike track, all just one kilometre from the Blacktown CBD.
“Fairwater already has a wonderful sense of community with 500 families living here,” Mr Carulli says.
“People walk their dogs around the parkland, there’s free 45-minute fitness classes in the park each weekday and you’ll run into neighbours as they take the kids for a scooter around the lake.”
Fairwater’s four-bedroom homes are also proving popular with buyers who are looking for extra space but want to avoid the maintenance that comes with older homes or big backyards.
Among the four-bedroom homes now for sale at Fairwater are the completed and ready to move in contemporary-style Haven houses priced at $849,000. Downstairs is the fourth bedroom, full bathroom, laundry and spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen area which leads to a large undercover alfresco area and landscaped backyard.
Upstairs is a large kids’ retreat, main bathroom with freestanding bath and three bedrooms, including the spacious master bedroom suite with dual vanity ensuite, walk-in wardrobe and balcony.
The homes feature freestanding double garages located at the rear of the block.
There’s also a variety of off the plan four-bedroom home designs for sale, priced between $818,000 and $1,044,000, including a freestanding Garden house featuring a downstairs retreat/movie room and a large open plan living/dining/kitchen overlooking the 19 sqm undercover alfresco area. All the four-bedroom homes feature double garages.
The Fairwater Display Village and Sales Centre is open 11am to 4pm, seven days a week. Visit www.fairwaterliving.com.au or call 13 38 38 for more information.
