For Glen and Emma Burnett, The Grove is more than a residential development – it’s the place Glen proposed to Emma, and it’s where they bought their first block of land and built their first home, which is now the home where they have welcomed their first child, eight-week old daughter Everly.
For Glen and Emma, The Grove is the place where their dreams have been made possible.
“I had been putting aside money for an engagement ring for Emma when we bought the land. She said, ‘we’re not engaged or married yet and you’ve bought land?’ We had been arguing for weeks until I proposed,” says Glen.
“I proposed at The Grove, across the street from the Sales Office and Davis Creek.”
Glen explains that the couple had been looking for a house and land package when they came across The Grove. They were immediately taken with everything it had to offer.
“Other lots we looked at outside of The Grove couldn’t compare,” says Glen.
“We chose The Grove because it had a lot of open outdoor spaces with nature at your doorstep. We have gone for walks around the creek and the ponds and it’s just beautiful to see. I feel like we’ve been here forever.”
The couple built a four-bedroom house and are enjoying watching the community grow around them. Since the couple purchased their land the community has continued to take shape around them with more than 850 land lots sold and other new residents settled in.
“We were one of the first houses to be built on Mulgra View,” Glen says.
“I remember when it was all a large paddock and Davis Rd was all gravel. Now it feels like a big community. I have gotten to know a few of my neighbours and I’m really close to our next-door neighbours, they are a young couple with a toddler.”
He says the couple were drawn to the family-friendly inclusions in the masterplan vision for The Grove and it was a key reason for them wanting to start their family as soon as they settled in.
“We love that the parks and waterways are at our doorstep and having that access to nature and open space is important for a child’s wellbeing,” Glen says.
The family are looking forward to the completion of the new community. Future plans at The Grove are expected to include a retail precinct, proposed primary and secondary schools, neighbourhood activity centre, sporting oval, medical and child care facilities and a series of walking and cycle paths connecting parklands and waterways with the wider neighbourhood.
“We can’t wait until the shopping centre and schools are done. They’re also building an A-league stadium nearby, it will be one of biggest in the world, it’s pretty special.”
It's easy to see why The Grove is proving popular with family such as the Burnett’s. Well-positioned in Victoria’s booming western growth corridor, The Grove offers residents an abundance of outdoor lifestyle opportunities as well as easy access to a future town centre, community facilities and planned schools all in a picturesque natural setting.
The Burnett’s will soon be joined by more neighbours as Frasers Property delivers the balance of the new community, which includes up to 1,780 further residential land lots across some 167 hectares.
The Grove sales centre is open from 10am until 5pm daily and is located at 180 Davis Rd, Tarneit. For more information visit www.thegrove.com.au or call 13 38 38.
