BRISBANE, 6 AUGUST 2019

Global food packaging company Huhtamaki has expanded its Queensland market presence and will move into South West 1 Industrial Estate, partly developed by Frasers Property Australia (Frasers Property).

Huhtamaki entered into an eight-year lease for a 12,635 sqm facility comprising a 12,000 sqm warehouse, 635 sqm office and 54 car spaces.

Troy Whalan, General Manager Commercial & Industrial Queensland for Frasers Property Australia, comments, “Huhtamaki is rapidly expanding across Australia with several warehouse premises already in Sydney and Melbourne. We are pleased they have chosen South West 1 Industrial Estate for their next Queensland facility, which is recognised as a prime industrial location in the state.”

Shaun Canniffe, Industrial Manager (South) for JLL comments, “Huhtamaki was drawn to this strategic location for their Queensland headquarters. Frasers Property’s ability to move quickly through the design and development approval process was the key to bringing this deal together, giving Huhtamaki confidence in completion timeframes.”

Features of Huhtamaki’s facility include a super-awning expanding over the hardstand area, 10 metre clearance and a 5 Star Green Star Design & As Built rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.

South West 1 Industrial Estate is located on Browns Plains Road in Berrinba. It is zoned for mixed-use and is approximately 23 kilometres south-east of the Brisbane CBD and located in close proximity to the Logan Motorway.

Companies that reside in the estate include Phoenix Transport, Avery Dennison, DHL, PACCAR, National Tiles, Sigma Heathcare and CTI.

The South West 1 Industrial Estate development was created by Logan City Council to draw investment and jobs to the city. Frasers Property has become a significant land holder and developer within the estate.

Shaun Canniffe & Sam Stewart from JLL brokered the deal.
