All malls of Frasers Property Retail commemorated Earth Hour by switching off non-essential lighting from 26 March to 1 April from 8.30pm to 11.30pm.
Earth Hour is an annual movement that encourages individuals, businesses, and communities to switch off their lights as a symbol of commitment to our planet. This year, the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment took place on 26 March, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.
All our malls marked showed their solidarity for the environment by switching off non-essential lights during this time. Beyond the one hour, our malls continued to switch off all non-essential lights for three hours over seven days. Tenants were also encouraged to take part in this movement by switching of their non-essential lighting and electrical appliances.
Watch the moment when the lights turned off at our malls.
Through this movement, approximately 4,500 kilowatt hours of energy was saved by simply turning of these lights. This energy is enough to power one mobile phone for 4,500 years!
Every little step plays a part in shaping a more sustainable future for the planet. Switching off non-essential lights is just a start. Collectively, we can do more to embrace sustainability and work towards a cleaner and greener future for everyone.
