Celebrating Singapore's 60th anniversary: A shared journey of growth and purpose

Singapore Corporate Purpose & Culture

As Singapore commemorates 60 years of independence on 9 August, Frasers Property proudly reflects on a legacy built alongside the nation’s growth. Together with our sister company Fraser and Neave (F&N), our journey has been shaped by resilience, innovation and a commitment to excellence. This milestone offers an opportunity to celebrate our shared local heritage, while also honouring the partnerships, spaces and communities that are key to bring our Purpose to life.

To mark SG60, we are sharing stories reflecting our continued contribution to Singapore’s journey. Our feature in The Business Times and The Straits Times highlights the journeys of both F&N and Frasers Property — two homegrown companies whose transformation and internalisation mirror Singapore’s own.

From our first property development in 1983 to becoming a multinational real estate group, our growth has been anchored in creating well-designed, well-managed spaces that support the way people live, work and play.

Over the decades, Frasers Property delivered more than 23,000 homes, developed award-winning mixed-use precincts, and built commercial and hospitality assets that bolster Singapore’s urban vibrancy. Our developments are designed not only for today’s needs but also future-proofed through sustainable design, digital innovation and inclusive planning. For example, we and our partner Sekisui House launched the highly anticipated The Robertson Opus with 41% already sold in the first weekend.

Frasers Property marked its entry into the hospitality sector in 1998 with the launch of Fraser Suites Singapore and Fraser Place. Our footprint in the Lion City has since grown to include a diverse, award-winning mix of long- and short-stay offerings, such as Fraser Residence Orchard, Singapore; Capri by Fraser, China Square; and Fraser Residence River Promenade. These form part of a global hospitality portfolio that now spans across 20 countries, reflecting our commitment to creating enriched living experiences for travellers and residents alike.

As the largest prime suburban mall owner and operator, our retail spaces serve over half the population, acting as social hubs that foster connection and community. These spaces enable our communities to remain connected, and in this spirit, we launched ‘Our Love Letter to Singapore’, a heartwarming campaign featuring a donation drive for local charities and distributed commemorative SG60 tote bags in support of SGSHARE, a Community Chest initiative.

We also produced a video tribute showcasing how Singaporeans from all walks of life continue to shape our evolution - enabled by thoughtfully designed spaces that create inspiring experiences and places for good.

As a proud Singapore-made multinational company, we celebrate SG60 with deep appreciation for the values that underpin the success of our business, our people and the vibrant city-state we call home.

Alexandra Point sits on the site of the former Malayan Breweries Plant, Singapore’s first brewery, a landmark in the once industrial area of Alexandra..

Opened in 1983, The Centrepoint is our first retail mall in Singapore, holding a significant place in Singapore's retail history along Orchard Road.
