MELBOURNE, 24 JANUARY 2020
Everyone’s invited to ‘Explore the Great Indoors’ at Burwood Brickworks next month, with a series of fun workshops, retailer offers, gift cards and treasure hunts planned so people can get to know their new local shopping centre.
From Monday 3 February to Saturday 29 February, Burwood Brickworks is coordinating a treasure hunt where visitors will track down answers to a series of questions about the new shops that have just opened to the community.
The treasure hunt will run from noon till 4pm each day and once participants make their way around the centre to uncover the answers, they’ll be eligible to receive a free Eftpos gift card topped with $10 to spend in the centre1, while stocks last.
And that’s not all. There’s an action-packed schedule of workshops planned during February to ensure a visit to Burwood Brickworks is a fun and engaging experience.
You can learn the art of screen printing in a workshop run by Guild of Objects on Tuesdays and then on Wednesdays, Botaniculture will coordinate a workshop teaching people how to create and care for their own terrarium – an ‘aquarium for plants’ - at home.
On Thursdays, Handmaker’s Factory will hold candle-making workshops and on Fridays there will be drawing classes facilitated by Class Petit.
The weekends will be busy too, with a series of workshops planned throughout the month helping kids decorate bird houses, customise tote bags and pencil cases, and make sand art jar creations.
On Sundays, Little Mandarin will guide people through hot Pilates and hot flow yoga classes, and dog owners can bring their pets to DOGUE’s off-leash socialisation sessions to help their friends make new ones.
“This is an opportunity for everyone in the local area and beyond to get to know the people and businesses that will give Burwood Brickworks shopping centre its own identity in the heart of a brand-new residential community. There will plenty to do and see for people of all ages, the retailers will be coordinating some entertaining and educational workshops, and we encourage everyone to come along,” says Eric Park, Centre Manager at Burwood Brickworks.
For the full calendar of workshops and to get involved, visit burwoodbrickworks.shopping and make a $10 donation to secure a spot. All donations go towards bushfire relief efforts coordinated through the Red Cross, Wildlife Victoria, Country Fire Authority and Foodbank Victoria.
Additionally, throughout the month, all customers who sign up to the Burwood Brickworks email database via the competition page will go into the running to win a year’s worth of Reading Cinemas movie tickets.
Some fantastic new retailers have opened their doors in recent weeks at Burwood Brickworks with New Northcote Tavern and Hot Hot Pot now open in the urban plaza, providing more dining choices.
With its family-friendly atmosphere, boutique ales and a menu celebrating sustainably sourced ingredients, New Northcote Tavern brings a unique experience to the local area, while at Hot Hot Pot, people can enjoy culturally authentic classic Sichuan hot pot in a casual setting with a distinct Melbourne vibe.
The new retailers join Woolworths, Dan Murphy’s and acre farm & eatery, as well as a host of speciality shops including Cannings Butchers, Choice Pharmacy, Biome, Norwood Café, Glossed Nails, Hu Hui Asian Supermarket, My Sushi, Ichiro Izakaya Bar, iHub, MyPlace Massage & Foot Spa, The Source Bulk Foods, Maxicare, Eye Trend, Better Home and Ben & Jerry’s at Burwood Brickworks.
