Rashi Dhagat and her husband Divyang were looking to grow their café business when the opportunity at Frasers Property Australia’s masterplanned community Mambourin came up at the right time.
Operating Little Growling Café for three years at The Grove, another Frasers Property community, the couple saw the potential and the need for a quality fresh food offering in the Wyndham Vale area.
“We used to serve coffee at the Mambourin sales office for about six months so we’ve known about the new community from the start,” says Rashi.
“A lot of our customers are from Wyndham Vale and they had been telling us there is no café in the area. The feedback was that they wanted us to open one there.
"Running the café at The Grove for three years now, we feel like we are ready to take the business to the next level. So when Frasers Property approached us about this opportunity we thought ‘why not?’. It’s a great opportunity for us to expand and grow,” she says.
Opening its doors in Club Mambourin in July, Little Growling Café will serve delicious specialty coffee and a selection of toasties and burgers proving popular with the locals at The Grove.
But that’s not all Little Growing Café has to offer.
“Our signature dish is this amazing chicken sandwich with cheese, chilli, tomato chutney and special herbs and spices called Mumbai. I came up with the recipe three years ago and people would come all the way just for this sandwich. It’s absolutely everyone’s favourite,” says Divyang.
“Being a vegetarian myself, we also have a lot of vegetarian options on the menu, which our customers love.
"We are also looking to expand our menu to add some Italian and South American flavours,” he says.
Little Growling Café will open from Tuesday through Sunday from 7:30am to 3:30pm.
Rashi and Divyang have recently purchased a house in Mambourin and are looking forward to not just working but living in the growing community.
“It will be amazing to live so close to work. We love the masterplan of the community, especially the expansive park and all the amenities in Club Mambourin,” says Rashi.
“I own an event planning business as well, so having a beautiful function room just steps away from my future home is just perfect,” she says.
The onsite Club Mambourin, a residents-only recreation and leisure facility featuring a gym and pool, is also taking shape. Club Mambourin is anticipated to open in July 2021.
Though it will be located in Club Mambourin, Little Growling Café will open to everyone in the community.
Mambourin is a $455 million development by the Frasers Property and Wyndham City Council that will transform 115 hectares into a thriving mixed-use community that will be home to 3,500 residents, 43 kilometres from the CBD in Melbourne’s thriving south west.
The Mambourin Discovery Centre, located on the corner of Barrabool Boulevard and Resin Street in Wyndham Vale, is open 7 days from 11am – 5pm. Phone Frasers Property on 13 38 38 or visit www.mambourin.com.au.
